Amorim Demands Solutions After AC Milan Suffer Benfica Defeat

AC Milan endured a frustrating night at San Siro as they opened their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Benfica on Thursday morning WIB. Following the disappointing result, Rossoneri head coach Ruben Amorim admitted that his side must find solutions to reverse their recent struggles.

Benfica had waited almost two decades for another meeting with Milan after the teams last faced each other in 2007, when the encounter ended in a draw. The latest meeting finally produced a winner, with Marco Silva’s side extending their unbeaten run, which dates back to last season when the team was still managed by Jose Mourinho.

The result leaves Milan with plenty to address as they look to regain momentum domestically and in Europe. Amorim’s side have now gone three consecutive matches without a win, increasing the importance of their next Serie A fixture.

Milan will return to league action against Lecce on Monday morning WIB in the fifth round of Serie A. The Rossoneri will be looking to use the match as an opportunity to put their recent run behind them and secure a much-needed victory.

Benfica, meanwhile, face a major domestic challenge of their own when they take on city rivals FC Porto in a highly anticipated Super Monday clash in the sixth round of the Primeira Liga on Sunday morning WIB.
