Arema FC Officially Introduces Mauro Zijlstra
Arema FC has officially introduced Mauro Zijlstra as their new player for the upcoming 2026/27 Super League season. The moment took place during a friendly match against RANS Nusantara.
The friendly match between Arema and RANS Nusantara was held at Kanjuruhan Stadium on Saturday (Aug 22). The Singo Edan squad sealed a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Diego Landis and Gustavo Franca.
An interesting moment occurred before kickoff. Mauro Zijlstra was introduced in the middle of the pitch as Arema’s latest signing.
Wearing the Arema jersey, Mauro Zijlstra entered the field and greeted the Aremania fans in the stands. However, he was not yet able to participate in the match.
“As the season kickoff approaches, the Singo Edan team has brought in new firepower by signing young striker Mauro Zijlstra from Persija Jakarta on a season-long loan for 2026/2027,” Arema wrote on their official social media account.
As previously reported, Mauro Zijlstra moves to Arema on a one-season loan. The 21-year-old player is still bound by a long-term contract with Persija Jakarta.
Mauro Zijlstra joined Persija midway through last season. However, the Indonesian national team player managed only four appearances due to injury setbacks.
Mauro Zijlstra also arrives at Arema while not yet fully fit. He suffered an injury during the Indonesian national team training camp this past July.
