Barcelona are entering a crucial stage of the summer transfer window as they continue their search for a new No. 9 to replace Robert Lewandowski.

With the transfer market approaching its conclusion, the Blaugrana are reportedly preparing to make a move for a German striker next week. Club Brugge forward Nicolo Tresoldi has emerged as one of the latest names on Barcelona’s radar.

Barcelona’s preferred target remains Julian Alvarez, but a move for the Atletico Madrid forward is currently considered difficult to complete in the near future. The Catalan club have therefore continued to explore alternative options as they look to strengthen their attacking line.

Other forwards linked with Barcelona include Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, Viktor Gyokeres and Sporting CP striker Luis Suarez. However, Spanish journalist Gerard Romero has now revealed that the club are also considering a move for Tresoldi.

The 22-year-old joined Club Brugge last season and quickly established himself as a prolific attacking option in Belgium. Tresoldi has scored 26 goals in 61 appearances for the Belgian side, impressing with his finishing ability and versatility in attack.

Despite being born in Italy and representing Germany at international level, Tresoldi also has considerable experience in German football. Before moving to Belgium, he spent time with Hannover, making 80 appearances in Germany’s top flight.

Tresoldi is reportedly aware of Barcelona’s interest and is said to be open to the possibility of moving to Catalonia. However, securing his signature would require a significant financial commitment.

Club Brugge are understood to value the striker at around €50 million, a substantial fee for a player who has spent only one season at the club. Barcelona would therefore have to decide whether Tresoldi fits both their sporting plans and financial parameters.

His age could make the German international particularly attractive to Barcelona. At just 22, Tresoldi has already demonstrated his goalscoring ability in multiple competitive environments and could represent a long-term investment rather than simply a short-term replacement for Lewandowski.

For now, however, there has been no confirmation of a formal offer from Barcelona. The Catalan giants are still assessing their options, with Alvarez remaining their priority while several alternatives are being considered.

Tresoldi’s name has nevertheless added another intriguing possibility to Barcelona’s search for a new centre-forward. With the transfer window closing soon, the coming days could determine whether the Club Brugge striker becomes Barcelona’s next attacking addition.
