Man United Consider January Move for Borussia Dortmund Striker
Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy during the January transfer window as they continue to assess their options in attack.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Guirassy has emerged as one of the names on United’s radar as the club explore potential reinforcements for their frontline. However, any move is expected to depend heavily on how Michael Carrick’s current forwards perform during the opening half of the 2026/27 season.
United are believed to be monitoring the situation rather than having made a definitive decision on whether to pursue the Guinea international. The club will reportedly evaluate the effectiveness of their existing attacking options before determining whether another striker is required in January.
Guirassy is not a new name on Manchester United’s transfer shortlist. The Red Devils previously considered signing the striker in 2023 when he was still playing for VfB Stuttgart.
That move ultimately failed to materialise, with United instead opting to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta as their preferred addition to the forward line. Hojlund subsequently became part of the club’s long-term plans in attack.
The situation could now lead United to revisit their interest in Guirassy, particularly if the current attacking options fail to produce the desired level of consistency during the first half of the campaign.
For the moment, however, Guirassy remains a potential target rather than an imminent signing. Manchester United are expected to continue monitoring their squad before making a final decision on whether to enter the January market.
The possibility of a renewed approach also highlights the club’s continued search for greater firepower in the final third. Should their existing forwards struggle to deliver consistently, Guirassy could once again emerge as a serious option for the Old Trafford side.
