Marc Klok Confident Persib Can End Winless Run Against Port FC

Persib Bandung captain Marc Klok says his side are highly motivated ahead of their ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) 2026/27 campaign and believes they can finally end their winless record against Port FC.

Persib head into the clash in a positive mood, with Klok highlighting the atmosphere within the squad during training ahead of their opening ACC fixture.

“We’re ready for tomorrow, and we’re very excited to start the Shopee Cup (ACC) as well. This is a new competition for us, and we have new targets. Hopefully, we can start with a win there,” Klok told reporters.

The Indonesian champions have set their sights on winning the competition, although Klok stressed that the team will approach the campaign one game at a time while maintaining their focus on other competitions.

“As usual, we play to win and we play to be champions. We also want to win the Shopee Cup and become champions. But we’ll take it step by step, game by game,” said the midfielder, who previously played for FC Utrecht.

However, Persib face a difficult task against Port FC based on their previous meetings. The Bandung side have yet to beat the Thai club, with Port FC recording two victories and one draw across their previous encounters.

Klok, though, sees the upcoming fixture as an opportunity to finally change that record.

For the Persib captain, their current momentum and victory in their previous match provide the team with confidence heading into the contest.

“Okay, now, this is the is the first one. Insha Allah,” Klok said when asked about Persib’s hopes of finally beating Port FC.
