Marc Klok Reveals Persib’s Key Mission During Bali Training Camp
Persib Bandung midfielder and captain Marc Klok is back in contention for his club after spending time away with the Indonesian national team. The 31-year-old could not hide his excitement at finally rejoining the Maung Bandung squad.
Klok previously left Persib after receiving a call-up to Indonesia’s squad for the AFF Championship. Indonesia’s campaign ended in the group stage, and Klok has now immediately turned his attention to the new season with Persib.
“I’m very excited to get back to training with Persib. It’s been quite a long time since I was with the team. I followed everything on social media and on TV, and I missed it. I missed my teammates and I missed Bandung,” Klok said.
Before travelling to Persib’s training camp in Bali, Klok briefly returned to Bandung. During his few days back in the city, the No. 23 took the opportunity to rest with his family and recharge ahead of the new campaign.
After the short break, the 31-year-old was ready to fly to Bali and join the Maung Bandung squad. Klok is also expected to travel alongside several other players who were previously part of the Indonesian national team.
“Yesterday, I spent three or four days in Bandung to rest with my family. Tomorrow, I’ll be on my way to Bali to rejoin the team and take part in training. Then I’ll focus on the ACL and the league,” he added.
Klok’s return coincides with an important period for Persib in Bali, including a series of friendly and pre-season matches. The midfielder sees the opportunity as crucial for adapting to the club’s new-look squad while getting a better understanding of head coach Igor Tolic’s tactical approach.
“These two matches in Bali are also very important as part of our preparations. It’s an opportunity to meet all the new players, as well as understand Igor (Tolic)’s coaching methods and playing style,” Klok explained.
The midfielder believes the preparations in Bali will provide an important foundation for Persib ahead of the new season, both domestically and in Asian competition. He hopes the team can continue to grow stronger and be ready to pursue their ambitious targets for the 2026/27 campaign.
“It’s a good moment to build chemistry, and then work hard towards our targets for this season,” Klok concluded optimistically.
