Shin Tae-yong Reacts to Persija’s Hard-Fought Victory Over Java United

Persija Jakarta managed to defeat Java United in the continuation of the 2026/27 BRI Super League. However, the victory was achieved with great effort.

In the match held at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, on Saturday (19/9), Persija edged out Java United with a 1-0 scoreline. The sole winning goal for the Kemayoran Tigers was scored by Arlyansyah Abdulmanan.

Persija played aggressively from the start of the match. Arlyansyah broke the deadlock in the 13th minute with a neat finish, capitalizing on a pass from Kerim Memija.

The early goal boosted the confidence of the Persija players. Unfortunately, several other golden opportunities failed to be converted.

However, Persija’s performance began to decline in the second half. Java United took advantage of the situation to push back.

Fortunately, Persija had Nadeo, who delivered a sharp performance under the crossbar. All three points were successfully secured until the final whistle.

Shin Tae-yong appeared somewhat dissatisfied with Persija’s performance in this match. Nevertheless, the man fondly known as STY still offered his appreciation.

“Actually, our players worked very well without losing concentration until the end. And because we won, I really want to praise them,” STY said.

This result continues Persija’s positive trend in the 2026/27 BRI Super League. Rizky Ridho and his teammates have swept three matches without a win.

In total, Persija has scored 4 goals and conceded only once, securing 2 clean sheets along the way.

Persija currently occupies second place in the temporary standings. However, STY realizes his squad still has areas to improve.
