France will face Belgium in Matchday 4 of Group A in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday, October 6, with Les Bleus looking to return to winning ways after their momentum was halted by Italy.

Belgium, meanwhile, will also be targeting another positive result as they look to finish the international break on a high.

The two sides head into their clash at the Stade de France with contrasting results from the previous matchday. France’s strong run under Zinedine Zidane was interrupted after Italy held them to a draw in Matchday 3.

Belgium, on the other hand, bounced back in style with a 3-0 victory over Turkey, managed by Vincenzo Montella.

Both teams now have plenty of motivation to secure three points. France will be looking to strengthen their position among Europe’s elite, while Belgium will be eager to avenge their defeat to the same opponents in the opening matchday of this year’s Nations League campaign, when they lost at home.

Belgium will also be looking to end their winless run against France in the Nations League. Across their four previous meetings in the competition, the Red Devils have failed to record a victory and have often suffered narrow defeats. Their biggest loss came in 2024, when they were beaten 2-0 at home.

France, however, will not have their strongest squad available for this encounter. Dayot Upamecano is ruled out through injury, while Kylian Mbappe will also miss the game due to a fitness issue.

Belgium will likewise be without two experienced midfielders, with Kevin De Bruyne and Youri Tielemans suspended after accumulating bookings during the victory over Turkey.

France will be looking to extend their winning streak against Belgium, while the visitors can take confidence from their defensive record, having kept clean sheets in two of their last three matches.

Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue are expected to play key roles in France’s attack, with the pair tasked with finding a way through a Belgian defence led by Maxim De Cuyper.
