Fulham Close In on Eintracht Frankfurt Midfielder
Fulham are reportedly close to completing a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, with the two clubs understood to have reached an advanced stage in negotiations for the Sweden international.
According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Fulham and Frankfurt have reached a basic agreement over the transfer, with only a few minor details still needing to be resolved before the deal can be completed.
Fulham are expected to pay around €25 million for the 22-year-old midfielder, who has emerged as one of their main transfer priorities under manager Alvaro Arbeloa.
Larsson is reportedly viewed as a player capable of strengthening Fulham’s midfield and adding greater balance to the squad. The Sweden international has already been in London in recent days as discussions with the west London club have progressed.
Before Fulham emerged as the leading candidate, Larsson had also attracted interest from fellow Premier League clubs Crystal Palace and Brentford. However, the Cottagers now appear to be in the strongest position to secure his signature.
The move is expected to be completed before the summer transfer window closes, although the final formalities still need to be addressed.
Larsson joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Swedish side Malmo FF in 2023 for a reported €9 million and quickly established himself as an important member of their midfield.
Since arriving in Germany, he has made 119 appearances across all competitions, contributing 10 goals and seven assists. His development at Frankfurt has also helped him establish himself at international level with Sweden.
Despite the progress of the transfer, Larsson may not be available for Fulham immediately. The midfielder is reportedly dealing with a minor muscle issue, which could delay his debut for his potential new club.
For Fulham, however, the opportunity to bring in a young midfielder with significant Bundesliga and European experience makes Larsson an attractive addition. Should the remaining details be finalised as expected, he could soon begin a new chapter of his career at Craven Cottage.
