Persija Training Camp in Thailand: Fabio Calonego Keen to Learn Shin Tae-yong’s Philosophy
Fabio Calonego has welcomed Persija Jakarta’s pre-season training camp in Thailand, with the defender eager to use the opportunity to better understand head coach Shin Tae-yong’s football philosophy.
Persija are holding their training camp in Hua Hin, Thailand, from August 10 to 23. The programme was initially postponed as the club had to compete in the 2026 President’s Cup.
During their stay in Thailand, Persija’s players are following a training programme focused on two key areas: fitness and tactics. The squad is training twice a day as the coaching staff look to raise the team’s standards in both areas.
Calonego has welcomed the training camp and believes the intensive programme will help Persija build stronger chemistry ahead of the new season.
“This training camp is a very positive thing. This period is an important moment for us to get to know each other better, build chemistry and, most importantly, raise our performance level as a team,” Fabio Calonego said.
“I believe everyone in the squad shares the same mindset and the same objectives. Everything is geared towards one main target, which is winning the title at the end of the season.”
Beyond improving his physical and tactical abilities, Calonego is also keen to quickly understand Shin Tae-yong’s football philosophy. The player believes doing so will be crucial in establishing himself as a regular member of the starting XI.
“I want to continue improving both physically and tactically, while understanding the coach’s philosophy as quickly as possible so that I can make an even greater contribution to the team,” he concluded.
