Thailand Legend Sends Best Wishes to Former Club Persib Bandung
Thailand football legend Suchao Nuchnum has sent his best wishes to former club Persib Bandung as the Indonesian side continues its campaign in the AFC Champions League Two.
Suchao remains a popular figure among Persib supporters, known as Bobotoh, despite spending only half a season with the Bandung club. His short spell in Indonesia left a lasting impression, and the former Thailand international still retains fond memories of his time with Persib and the supporters.
The midfielder joined Persib at the beginning of the 2009/10 Liga Super Indonesia season, arriving alongside fellow Thai international Sinthaweechai “Kosin” Jathairattanakool. The two players quickly became fan favourites and developed a strong connection with the Bobotoh.
More than a decade later, Suchao continues to keep track of Persib’s progress. He revealed to Vivagoal on Saturday, October 3, that he remains interested in the club’s performances and follows their development from afar.
“Yes, I still follow them. I see the progress Persib Bandung have made, and I continue to follow the club to this day,” Suchao said.
His interest has also extended to Persib’s continental campaign in the AFC Champions League Two. Suchao admitted that he had watched some of the club’s matches and was impressed by the progress they have made in terms of their overall performance.
“I also follow Persib’s performances, including their matches in ACL 2. I have watched some of their games, and I think Persib have developed very rapidly,” he added.
Suchao believes that continued progress could eventually allow Persib to compete at the highest level of Asian club football. The Thailand legend sees a pathway for the Indonesian club to reach the AFC Champions League Elite if they can maintain their current development.
“I believe that if they continue developing like this, Persib will have a great opportunity to play in the ACL in the future,” Suchao concluded.
For Persib and their supporters, Suchao’s words provide an encouraging endorsement from a former player who continues to follow the club closely. His connection with Bandung may have begun more than a decade ago, but the affection between the Thai legend and the Bobotoh remains intact.
