The Difference in Fate Between Kakang Rudianto and Dion Markx at Persib, Here Is Igor Tolic’s Explanation
Persib coach Igor Tolic finally spoke up regarding netizen demands asking for Kakang Rudianto to be sent out on loan. Igor Tolic feels that Kakang Rudianto is one of the players who must be retained thanks to his impressive performance last season.
Igor Tolic mentioned that the Persib coaching staff conducted an in-depth analysis to build the squad for this season. There were several specific details Persib considered when finalizing the squad, one of which was each player’s playing time.
In Kakang Rudianto’s case, the Croatian coach stated that Kakang logged high playing minutes last season. This contrasts with Dion Markx, who struggled to compete for playing time, resulting in the decision to send him out on loan this season.
“Regarding Dion (Markx). Why Kakang (Rudianto) stays while Dion (is loaned out) is because going out to play is a better path for Dion. Kakang is a player who has already become a starter at Persib. He has played over the last three years with the highest number of playing minutes,” Igor explained.
Igor acknowledged the demands coming from netizens. Moreover, Kakang Rudianto did occasionally make mistakes in his game last season. However, releasing Kakang for those mistakes would not be a fair decision for a coach to make.
“Did Kakang make mistakes? Yes. But who hasn’t made mistakes? Which one of you has never made a mistake?” Igor asked.
He is fully aware that Dion Markx did not come to Indonesia to warm the bench, but to get significant playing time. Furthermore, staying on the bench for too long last season was not the best option for Dion’s development.
“For Dion, after sitting on the bench for a year, he needs to play. We found a solution so that he can get playing time. If Kakang sits on the bench and Sandy plays, that is not a problem for Kakang because he already has 100 matches under his belt. So it is not an issue for him,”
“However, for Dion to sit behind Sandy Walsh, that is a problem. Because over the course of a year, how many matches did he actually get? So these are the decisions. No one needs to worry about this; we have thought it through and are working to resolve it,” he concluded.
