Beckham Putra Reveals the Domino Effect of Persib’s Victory at FC Seoul’s Home Ground

Persib player Beckham Putra acknowledged that the historic away victory at FC Seoul’s home ground has brought a massive positive impact. The positive result against FC Seoul has provided a valuable boost of confidence for Persib as they prepare for upcoming matches.

Beckham Putra revealed that last season’s head-to-head record against Persijap Jepara also serves as extra motivation for Persib. The unsatisfactory experience from the previous season has strengthened the team’s determination to perform better and secure full points.

“We can see that winning in Seoul was certainly not easy. If I’m not mistaken, we are one of the first (Indonesian) teams to successfully win in Seoul. This is an important milestone for us and valuable momentum going forward, especially as we face another away match, which won’t be easy either,” Beckham said.

Beckham added that the clash against Persijap is equally crucial to remaining competitive in the domestic league. Moreover, following their defeat against Persija the previous week, Persib need to make up for it by securing a win in another match.

“Last year, we know we lost to Persijap and couldn’t win at home. That serves as an important motivation. Winning against FC Seoul builds great momentum for Persib, and hopefully, it gives us an extra push ahead of the Persijap match,” Beckham explained.

Although their upcoming opponents have started the season with two consecutive defeats, Beckham refuses to view this as an advantage. He believes Persijap will step up with extra motivation and determination when facing Persib.

“That shouldn’t be our benchmark because they will definitely play differently against us. Given their decent record against us, they will surely double their efforts when facing Persib. Whoever the opponent is, they always bring extra intensity against Persib,” he emphasized.

Beckham stressed the importance of focusing on the team’s own depth and internal readiness rather than overthinking the opponent’s situation or dynamic. He hopes the Persib squad will not be distracted by the two defeats suffered by the team nicknamed Laskar Kalinyamat.

“So, I think we should focus more on our own team and how we will face Persijap—we don’t need to worry about other teams,” he concluded.
