Karlo Reinholz Speaks Out on the Condition of 3 Persib Players Ahead of Match Against Port FC
Several Persib players remain doubtful for the match against Port FC in the opening fixture of the 2026/27 ASEAN Club Championship. This was confirmed directly by Persib’s physical coach, Karlo Reinholz.
He mentioned that at least three players are uncertain to feature: Gakuto Notsuda, Sandy Walsh, and Danijel Loncar. Reinholz explained that the trio will likely miss out as they are currently undergoing rehabilitation programs for their respective injuries.
“Gakuto (Notsuda) and Sandy (Walsh) are currently making good progress in their recovery. As you can see, they have started training individually on the pitch again. However, it is difficult to predict whether they will be ready for the first match, given that they have been sidelined for quite a long time,” Reinholz said.
Although medically both players are in a better condition than before, Reinholz cannot guarantee their availability against Port FC. He emphasized that several specific details regarding their readiness still need to be evaluated.
“In terms of injury healing, they are doing fine. But in the next phase, we must assess their fitness levels alongside the position-specific demands and overall needs of the team,” the Croatian added.
As for Danijel Loncar, Reinholz believes his recovery could be swift. He noted that Loncar’s issue stems from a previous injury, which Persib’s medical team is well-positioned to resolve quickly.
“Loncar’s situation is fairly similar. His treatment might proceed a bit faster, but we still want to ensure it is completely safe. That way, when he returns to competition, he won’t experience any further setbacks. This is a recurring issue from before he joined us,” he explained.
Reinholz expressed full confidence in the efforts of Persib’s medical department, noting that their treatment plan is progressing according to schedule and the coaching staff is simply awaiting green light recommendations.
“Once this phase is complete, we will know the exact right time for them to return to competitive play,” he concluded.
