Persib Bandung will be without key midfielder Beckham Putra Nugraha for their opening ASEAN Club Championship 2026/27 fixture against Port FC, with head coach Igor Tolic confirming that the Indonesia international remains in recovery from an injury.

Persib are scheduled to face Port FC at Thammasat Stadium on Thursday, October 8, but Beckham will remain in Bandung to continue his rehabilitation programme. The midfielder, who wears the No. 7 shirt, has been advised to focus on his recovery rather than travel with the squad to Thailand.

Tolic explained that Beckham is currently undergoing therapy and that his rehabilitation has been progressing well. The Persib coach therefore believes keeping the 24-year-old in Bandung is the best approach to ensure he can return to full fitness.

“Yes, Beckham is undergoing therapy. Everything is going well,” Tolic told reporters.

Beckham is not the only player unavailable for the opening ACC fixture. Persib will also be without foreign players Danijel Loncar and Gakuto Notsuda, who are both continuing their respective recovery programmes.

Tolic confirmed that Notsuda and Loncar have remained at home while completing their rehabilitation, although the coach is encouraged by their progress and hopes both players can return to the squad soon.

“Gakuto is also at home, as is Danijel Loncar. Their progress is good, and hopefully they can rejoin us soon,” Tolic added.

Despite the growing injury list, Tolic is not overly concerned about the situation. Persib have been boosted by the return of national-team players Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen, who were given limited minutes during the recent international break and should therefore arrive with sufficient energy for the club’s congested schedule.

“I think we are ready. The national-team players, Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen, had some rest because only two players were called up,” Tolic explained.

The Persib coach recognises that injuries and a demanding fixture list will test his squad’s depth, particularly with continental and domestic commitments running alongside each other. However, he believes the club’s planning has provided enough balance across the squad to handle the absences.

“We are trying to build balanced depth in every position and distribute the workload among the players across every match and competition,” Tolic said.

With Beckham, Loncar and Notsuda unavailable, Persib will need other members of the squad to step up against Port. Tolic’s emphasis on rotation and workload management could prove crucial as Maung Bandung begin another demanding campaign on multiple fronts.
