Another Win, Shin Tae-yong Remains Unsatisfied with Persija’s Attack
Persija Jakarta continued their winning streak by defeating Java United. However, the result has not yet satisfied head coach Shin Tae-yong.
In the continuation of the 2026/27 BRI Super League at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, on Saturday (19/9), Persija beat Java United with a 1-0 scoreline. This marks the third consecutive victory for the Macan Kemayoran.
The sole winning goal for Persija was scored by Arlyansyah Abdulmanan in the 13th minute. Several other golden opportunities failed to be converted to extend the lead.
This reality has left Shin Tae-yong dissatisfied. The coach, affectionately known as STY, wants his attacking line to be more efficient in converting chances.
“Honestly, if our players’ finishing had been a bit better, I think we could have shown a good performance much more easily. However, during the match, it wasn’t that the players didn’t want to score; they tried their best,” said STY.
“It’s just that luck wasn’t on our side today. Going forward, aspects like this must be improved so that we can prepare to score more goals.”
Persija has managed to collect four goals while conceding just once in three matches played. Recording two clean sheets proves that the defensive line led by Rizky Ridho and his teammates is extremely solid.
Persija’s strength will certainly be even more formidable if their front line becomes more clinical, especially since tough opponents have already been overcome.
