Persib Bandung captain, Marc Klok, revealed his team’s objective ahead of their clash against Persik Kediri in Week 5 of the 2026/27 BRI Super League. Klok emphasized that a positive result in this match is crucial to improving Persib’s position in the current league standings.

The match between Persib and Persik is scheduled to take place at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium on Sunday, October 18, 2026, with kick-off at 19:00 WIB. The fierce battle between these two sides, who currently share an identical points tally, will be broadcast live starting at kick-off.

Klok explained that the Maung Bandung squad has undergone extensive preparations ahead of the fixture. Among these preparations was maximizing their rest time, which he described as essential amid a grueling schedule.

“Having an extra day off was very good. It gave us a bit more time, even if it was just a little. However, it doesn’t make a massive difference because the fixture schedule remains extremely packed,” Klok stated to media representatives.

The Dutch-born midfielder expressed that rest is vital given Persib’s demanding calendar. Persib faces a grueling schedule in October alone, with seven matches slated in rapid succession.

“At the same time, as we move quickly from one match to the next, we might not have as many training sessions, which can sometimes actually be a good thing,” he added.

Klok noted that the victory in their previous fixture against The Cong-Viettel FC provided a significant boost. The squad now approaches the upcoming match with renewed confidence, while the coaching staff appears equally motivated in formulating their tactical plan.

Furthermore, securing a win remains Persib’s primary target as they look to climb the BRI Super League table. Klok is well aware that a victory in this match could serve as a vital stepping stone toward the top tier of the standings.

“You just have to focus on one game at a time, then move on to the next. It’s a huge task for the coaching staff to complete their tactical analysis in such a short window,” Klok remarked.

“As for us players, we just need to go out there and play. But yes, we are very excited for tomorrow’s league match. We need the win and the three points, so we are really looking forward to it,” he concluded.
